Contact AskMed support
The way to reach AskMed support is email: write to support@getaskmed.com from any device. In the Android app and in the web app, Settings → Contact Us opens a new email to that address for you; in the iPhone and iPad app, open Settings with the gear icon on the Home screen, or simply write to the address from your mail app. Support handles sign-in problems, subscription questions, refunds for purchases made on the getaskmed.com website, data deletion requests and reports about answers. It helps to say which device you use (iPhone, iPad, Android or a browser), the email on your AskMed account if you have one, and what you expected to happen. For a problem with an answer, include the question you asked. Please don't send information that identifies a patient. Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google, as explained further down this page.
Sign in on another device
To use AskMed on another device, sign in there with the same AskMed account; one account works in the iPhone and iPad app, the Android app and the web app, and your subscription follows it. In the apps, tap "Already have an account? Sign in" under Get Started on the welcome screen, or the "Sign in" button on the plan screen. On the web, go to getaskmed.com/account. Then pick the same method you used before: Continue with Apple (iPhone, iPad and web), Continue with Google, or Email me a code, which sends a 6-digit code that expires after 10 minutes. If you subscribed in an app without an account, first create one on that device in Settings → Account → Create Account. An account can be signed in on one phone, one tablet and one computer at the same time; a device unused for 14 days gives up its place automatically.
- "This account is already signed in on another phone" (or tablet, or computer): sign out on the old device in Settings → Account → Sign Out, then try again.
- "No AskMed account found. Use the account you already have.": the apps sign in to existing accounts only. Use the email, Apple ID or Google account you subscribed with.
- No code arrived: check spam, then tap "Send a new code". You can ask for a new code after a minute.
- History doesn't move: History and Saved answers in the apps stay on that device. On the web they are stored with your account.
Restore a purchase
Restoring a purchase tells AskMed to look up a subscription you already bought through the App Store or Google Play, for example after reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone. On iPhone and iPad, sign in to the same Apple ID you subscribed with, open AskMed, and tap Restore Purchase at the bottom of the plan screen that appears after setup. On Android, use the same Google account, open AskMed and tap Restore Purchase on the plan screen. If nothing is found, the app says "No active subscription was found." If you subscribed on getaskmed.com, there is nothing to restore: tap Sign in instead and use the account you made at checkout, and the app unlocks with your website subscription. If you made an AskMed account in the app, signing in with it also works on a new device. A restore only checks the store for a purchase you already made; it doesn't start a new one.
Manage or cancel a subscription
An AskMed subscription is managed and cancelled where you bought it: Apple for the iPhone and iPad app, Google Play for the Android app, or the getaskmed.com website. When you cancel, the subscription stops renewing and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app or your AskMed account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it first if you no longer want it. On the App Store, auto-renew must be turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Refunds for App Store purchases are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, refunds for Google Play purchases follow Google Play's refund policies and are requested through Google Play, and refunds for website purchases are requested by email to support@getaskmed.com. The steps for each place are below.
iPhone and iPad
- In AskMed: tap the gear icon on the Home screen to open Settings, then tap Manage Subscription. Apple's subscription sheet opens, where you can change or cancel.
- Or in the iPhone or iPad Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then AskMed.
Android
- In AskMed: tap the gear icon on the Home screen, then Manage Subscription. Your Google Play subscriptions page opens.
- Or open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → AskMed.
Web
- Sign in at getaskmed.com/app, open Settings, and use the Manage Subscription link.
- Or manage the subscription in your Whop account. Whop is the payment provider for website purchases.
Report a wrong answer
To report an AskMed answer that is wrong, tap the thumbs down under the answer; it works the same in the iPhone, iPad, Android and web apps. Under every answer AskMed asks "Was this answer helpful?". Choosing Not helpful opens a "What went wrong?" sheet with five reasons: Inaccurate, Missing information, Sources don't match, Hard to understand, and Other. Pick the closest one, add details in "Tell us more (optional)" if you can, such as which sentence was wrong and what the source actually says, and tap Send feedback. AskMed keeps your rating, the reason and your comment with that answer so it can be reviewed. Every claim in an answer links to its source, so the quickest check is to open the citation behind the sentence and compare. For a serious error you would like a reply about, also email support@getaskmed.com with the question you asked. How AskMed answers explains how answers are built and checked.
Privacy and deleting your data
You can delete your AskMed account from inside the app, and the full details of what AskMed stores are in the Privacy Policy. In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, which is shown while you are signed in; the web app's Settings has Delete Account too. Deleting the account signs you out on every device and can't be undone. Questions and answers are also recorded on AskMed's servers, so to have those deleted, email support@getaskmed.com from the address on your account and ask for your account and data to be deleted; if you used the apps without an account, say so and support will help find your data. Deletion is done within 30 days unless the law requires keeping something, and payment records are kept as needed for accounting. Clear History only removes the History list from that app or website account.
- Private Mode (Settings → Privacy) keeps new questions out of your History. Those questions are still sent to AskMed's servers to be answered.
- Attachments: the text of a PDF, photo or note is read on your device or in your browser, and only that text is sent with your question. It isn't stored on AskMed's servers.
- AskMed does not sell your personal information, and your questions are not used for advertising.
Frequently asked questions
These are short answers to common questions about AskMed subscriptions, accounts, History, languages and what AskMed answers. Each one points to the part of this page, the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy that covers it in full. AskMed runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later), Android and the web, and one account works on all of them, so most answers below apply to every device. Where the steps differ between Apple, Google Play and the website, the answer says so. Subscriptions are always managed in the store or on the website where they were bought, because Apple, Google and Whop handle the payment. If your question isn't covered here or anywhere above, email support@getaskmed.com and include the device you use and the email on your AskMed account, so support can find it quickly.
Does deleting the app cancel my subscription?
No. Deleting the app or your AskMed account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it with Apple, in Google Play, or with Manage Subscription on the website, as described above.
I subscribed on the website. How do I use the phone app?
Install AskMed from the App Store or Google Play, tap "Already have an account? Sign in" on the welcome screen, and sign in with the account you made at checkout.
I subscribed in the app. Can I use AskMed on a computer?
Yes. In the app, go to Settings → Account → Create Account, then sign in with that account at getaskmed.com to use it on the web.
Why is my History different on the web?
History in the apps is kept on the device; on iOS it is included in your iCloud or device backups, and on Android it isn't backed up. On the web, History is stored with your account. The two are kept separately.
Which languages does AskMed support?
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Arabic. The apps follow your device language, and you can change it in Settings → Language.
Does AskMed give drug doses?
No. AskMed explains what a drug is used for, how it works and how dosing is chosen, but never states doses. Exact dosing comes from the current prescribing information and the treating clinician.
Can I use AskMed in an emergency?
No. AskMed is for education and reference by healthcare professionals and students. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
